David's First Haircut

This morning Tim took David to get his very first haircut...We were not sure how it would go but, once again, David surprised us and did very well (until the clippers came out anyway :-))We didn't realize how long his hair had gotten but soon enough he was looking like quite the little man:
And his reward for being so good? He got to sweep up the barber shop.....he'd rather do that than have a lollipop any day!!!
Doesn't he look so hansome with his new haircut???

Introducing DELANEY CHRISTINE SHEDD!!!

Our Precious little girl was born 15 September 2010 at 1316. She weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 21 inches long. We believe she is the most beautiful baby EVER!!!
She is perfectly healthy and left no doubts on her feelings to start :-)
Mommy and Baby are both doing well and we couldn't be happier!!!
The whole family is so happy to have Delaney, and David is really taking to "Baby"....
David did miss mommy while she was in the hospital so we had a little extra time when he came to visit in the hospital :-)
So far Delaney has been a dream baby......she eats well, poos well and sleeps so peacefully. We have really been blessed with a perfect baby!!!!

After the required stay in the hospital we got ready to finally go home....David was very interested in the preparations.
While we were in the hospital my mom came to help us out and took care of David for us. She was a true God send and David was lucky to have such a good time with Grandma. I will always be indebted to mom for her help in this time. She really took a load off of my mind as I knew David was in good hands and it was nice to have mom meet Delaney so early :-) Here are The Girls:
Once we got home Delaney continued to eat and sleep well.....
And David has not ceased to amaze us by how well he is taking to his new little sister....
Of course he still likes to clown around....here he is looking through the screen at us and making faces which he thought was hilarious and I am amazed we got this picture because we were laughing so hard.......

Baby Girl Pictures

We had a 3D ultrasound of Baby Girl taken today (I am 32 weeks along). Isn't she cute?? We think she looks alot like David and hope you enjoy. And, yes, she is sticking her tongue out in the last picture :-) (if you click on the picture it will make it bigger and easier to see).

San Antonio Trip

We recently took a little trip to San Antonio where Tim had hoped to have PRK surgery on his eyes. It turns out his eyes are pretty special so they don't make him a good candidate for the surgery. Although that was a disappointment we did have a fantastic family time in one of our favorite cities. We stayed on Lackland AFB while we were there and took time out to walk around the static airplanes. David is as fascinated as his daddy by all airplanes.....This first picture is a bit blurry because the camera was in AC and fogged up as we took it outside but I loved this picture.....Like Father, Like Son.........

We got to go to Sea World while we were there. It was a great time and David LOVED every minute of it.....did I mention "Like Father, Like Son"?
Looking at the fish was David's favorite part. I think he would have been happy here all day (and not just because of the air conditioning)
Mom took him to see the penguins but because the room was dark the pictures were not great...but this one summed up it all up:
And we watched the dolphins:
Needless to say there was plenty of time between Dad's Dr. appointments and Mom's shopping to just goof off. Here is David (with food in his hair) enjoying dinner time:
And, Ummmm did I mention "Like Father, Like Son"?

Just an Update.....

We recently did a major clean up of our screened porch to allow David another room to play in. It was something we've wanted to do for a while and it feels good to have finished the project. David has enjoyed the new space.
After watching mom and dad sweeping the porch, the broom became David's favorite toy :-) He is playing here.....this is not child labor!!
When he is not playing in the porch David still loves his house toy and is always finding new ways to make us laugh. Here he is "hiding" and popping out.
David plays hard. I mean he takes his toddler job of playing VERY seriously. He is soooo dirty by the end of the day. Daddy got a close up of his dirty little face and, yes, that is a ladybug on his lip.......
But playing isn't the only thing that makes him dirty......eating does too!!!

Water!!

David LOVES playing in the water. He was recently introduced to the pool :-). He watched Mom fill it and then.....

Play Time!!!
Bath-Time:

David LOVES eating the bubbles.....it makes a precious little "santa clause".

Update

It's been a busy Spring for the Shedd's which is why this blog update has been so long in coming....These are just a few pictures of what we have been up to and we will try to update more often throughout the summer.

The first big thing we did this Spring was find out our next bundle of joy was going to be a GIRL!!!!!! We are so excited!!! Mom can't wait to buy pink stuff and Dad, well Dad doesn't yet realize he is going to lose his heart to a little pink bundle :-)
The second big "happening" of the Spring was that Tim tore his Achilles Tendon. OK according to the Dr. it wasn't "torn"... it was "shredded". UGH!! Obviously he was in quite a bit of pain for a while and he had to have surgery on it. However, we are now on the home stretch of recovery...two more weeks in a cast and then a few months of rehab. Hopefully he will be back to 100% by October when Baby Girl makes her appearance. I know it's a bit disturbing but here is a picture of Tim's leg post-surgery/pre-cast:

In May we had a fun Hertz Family visit for the Columbus Airshow. My parents and brother and sister-in-law and their kids came for a visit. It was a great time and I guess it was so much fun I didn't take enough pictures!!!! David had so much fun playing with his cousins and it was really really nice for Tim and I to have some company. I did manage to get this picture of Tim and David waiting for the Thunderbirds to do their show:
Also this spring we took David to the Zoo in Memphis. He doesn't have alot of exposure to animals since we don't have a dog and except for the stray cat that haunts our yard he hasn't really seen animals up close but he LOVED the monkey babies (birds of feather???.....):

Memphis was sweltering the weekend we went to the Zoo but they had a fountain the kids could play in and that helped cool everyone off including mom:
The rest is just a few pictures of David (and mom and dad) doing a few of our favorite activities. David LOVES slides:
And his water table:
And reading with Daddy:
And hanging out with mom (June 11 is my last day of flying until Baby Girl comes so not too many more pictures with mom in the flight suit):
And of course, everyone's favorite Spring activity......EATING POPSICLES!!!!!!
